3 Reasons to Add Privacy Slats to Your Chain-Link Fence

Chain-link is one of the most popular fencing materials in Canada and many of our homeowners in Chilliwack and Langley have opted for this tried and true fence option. Depending on your needs, you may find that you need a little something extra to finish off your new chain-link fence and privacy slats are a great way to do just that.

Privacy Slats for… Privacy

The name may have tipped you off already, but the number one reason to add slats to your chain-link fence is for added privacy. The slats are woven between the chain-link fence and help to create a visual barrier. This is a particularly good idea for homeowners in densely populated neighbourhoods where you would like to have more of “your own” space.

Added Security

Chain-link fences are strong and sturdy, but if you want to increase the security for your property, you should add privacy slats. Because the slats create a visual block, it decreases the ability for people to view into your property, which is particularly good for businesses and families with children.

Improved Appearance

Privacy slats come in a wide range of colours, so you can easily match them to your home. For businesses, you can order privacy slats that reflect your company’s brand. You can even use multiple colours for added effect! These slats are usually woven into the fence vertically, but they can also be woven on a diagonal for a different look.

Privacy slats for chain-link fences come in three privacy options; 80%, 90% and 100%. The 100% privacy option is a product called HedgeLink, a pvc product that is designed to look like a natural hedge once installed.

Privacy slats are available in a wide variety of sizes and options to meet every budget and space, and the experienced team at A&G Fencing in Chilliwack can help you find the solution you need. For questions about chain-link fencing and privacy slats, give us a call at 604-794-3181!
