Design the Perfect Pool Fence

During hot summer months, pools are one of the best ways of keeping cool. They’re also a great way of keeping the kids active! Unfortunately, every year a number of children drown because of falling into pools. To avoid this, the City of Chilliwack set out a series of rules and regulations regarding the fencing of pools. For a list of these regulations, check out this blog post.

Fortunately, a range of fence styles and materials means that pool owners can keep their kids safe, meet city regulations all while making sure their garden and pool looks fantastic!

Wooden Lattice Top Fences

The classic wooden lattice top fence is very popular. The ornamental lattice top is decorative while the wooden fence offers privacy. This type of fence is also reasonably durable and low maintenance. At A&G fencing, we provide lattice top fences in a range of colors.

While thick wooden paneling is an advantage when it comes to privacy, they also obscure your view of the pool. This not only ruins your view of a pristine pool but also obscures your view of anyone playing in the pool. This is potentially dangerous.

Ornamental Iron Fences

The ornamental iron fence is very popular among those looking for a pool fence: it offers class, superior design and is long-lasting. Additionally, because the fence is constructed from a series of pillars, it won’t obscure your view. It affords a better view of your pristine pool and those playing in the pool. This fence will also allow more light to enter the pool area.

This fence does not offer any privacy. As such, it is less ideal for those seeking a perimeter fence. Unlike the wooden lattice, this type of fence doesn’t afford any shelter from the wind.

Chainlink

The chainlink is a very affordable option for a pool fence. This type of fence is easy to construct and low maintenance. Constructed from a series of wires or netting, this type of fence won’t obscure your view of the pool and it won’t shade the pool from beautiful, natural light.

Much like the wrought iron, this fence does not afford pool owners any privacy. This fence can also be easily climbed and does not afford any shelter from the wind.

Various fence materials mean that pool owners can keep their pets, family and neighbours safe without sacrificing style. At A&G fencing, we’ll be happy to help you find the perfect fence for your pool and family!
