Best articles for tips on installing a new fence
Are you preparing to build and install a fence this year? There is much to know when it comes to putting the best techniques into practice to...
We’re well into the long hot days of summer - yes, even here in the lower mainland! While we love the work our air conditioning units do at this time of year, no one enjoys the big A/C unit (AKA the split heat pump) in the backyard. If you find yours to be unsightly, these tips to help you hide your backyard A/C unit are for you.
Cover it With Fencing
One obvious solution for hiding your A/C unit is to cover it with fencing, and at A&G Fencing we can help you with that! There will need to be allowances made for optimal machine functioning (based upon the manufacturer’s recommendation for your particular unit) and practical access for maintenance and repair purposes, but this is a very doable solution, and one that will definitely help hide the unit.
Utilize a Vegetation Screen
Similar to a fence, but with the addition of greenery! Consider adding trellising around your unit and having some ivy grow up it to act as a screen. Keep the needs of your unit in mind though, you don’t want to limit or damage your A/C unit’s functioning. This is another way to pretty up your backyard space!
Incorporate it Into a Shed
Depending on the location of the unit in your backyard, you can incorporate your backyard A/C unit into a larger structure such as a shed. In there, you can keep tools, gardening implements and other items you’d rather not keep on display, such as garbage cans. Again, spatial allowances will need to be made, but this solution is highly practical.
At A&G Fencing, we’re all about finding practical solutions to help meet the needs of our highly valued customers. To discuss your next project, please contact us. We look forward to hearing from you!
